We need more white champion boxers

The way Golovkin stands there and takes digs, he closes down the ring superbly but he is easy to hit, and was rocked back by a welterweight, Benn would have beat him. The movement and power would have done for Golovkin.

I bet Froch is fuming he never took the GGG fight. If a big Welterweight could back GGG up he wouldn't of took Frochs power.

Proof was in the pudding Re Benn v McClelend, Benn came back and won, maybe he got lucky it wasn't stopped but his victory proved the ref right.

benn got back in the ring in enough time, it shouldn't have been stopped

Re: GGG v Brook
Brook was not overmatched.

The fight was very competitive for 5 rounds. It's just unfortunate that he took a bad shot to the eye.

Benn I don't think would have stood a chance against GGG.

He took too much punishment and, as great as he was, we need to remember that he could and probably should have been stopped in the first round against Mcclellan if the ref had been on the ball.

I can't see Kovalev wanting, or being able to step down the weights.

Super middleweight match up Golkvkin v Kovalev to decide it.

GGG didnt flintch at any Brook threw and Brook was fucked, his corner threw jn the towel as he was so over matched

How the fuck can you be watching a fight and posting on here about it? Some of you cunts can't seem to forget about this site for even 30 minutes.

I agree, it was a cracker while it lasted and the ending was sudden, even though it was right.

Are you kidding Deano?

The second half of the fight would have started - and ended - with Brook being knocked unconscious.

Re: GGG v Brook
Fair play, was all a bit sudden and I was imaging a broken eye socket would have swelled more than a black eye? I'm no expert though - was a great fight and there was only going to be one winner. Just disappointed not to see how the second half of the fight would have progressed.

yes, the corner did well

The Joker 1:55 Sun Sep 11
Re: GGG v Brook
At the end GGG was just wading into him and the fight was only going one way. He was just too big and strong ultimately. Throw in a broken eye socket affecting Brook's vision and it was a great decision from his corner.

We all love a bit of Rocky but no one wants to see another Watson happen.

His eye-socket had been smashed mate. He was pointing to it to his corner from early on in the fight. It's disappointing, but this way he gets to fight another day. Nothing cynical about it, it's not a game, it's a brutal sport.

Then I bow to your greater knowledge Miike - remember there being a bit of a moan up about being 'fortunate'. At least think I do but there has been plenty of water under the bridge and Stella down the neck since...

Re: GGG v Brook
He's one of only 2 men I can see taking the fight to Golovkin at middleweight, Miike. Jacobs is a decent fighter and can bang, I think Eubank should fight him and the winner take on Golovkin. Saunders won't go near the fight imo.

Will Golovkin step up for a proper fight? Don't look like it, and you can't blame him after a welterweight troubled him like that.

Re: GGG v Brook
Great fight with a very disappointing end. Seemed a bit cynical to me - they pulled him before his reputation possibly took a hit. But, what if he rallied and went the full 12? Maybe I've recently watched a few Rocky's but it all seemed a bit soft in the end - first flurry of punches and the towel came in. My old grandad certainly would have been a bit miffed by that.

Takashi Miike 1:39 Sun Sep 11
Re: GGG v Brook
I think Eubanks jr will give him a decent fight. naturally bigger man and much stronger physically than Brook. not really seen how durable he is yet to a big punch but if he's anything like his old man, he'll handle a few shots

Takashi Miike 1:37 Sun Sep 11
Re: GGG v Brook
crassus, the time out the ring was perfectly fine. easy to look it up and check. it's more than the ten seconds you get in the ring
